Renaming Com Ports

RENAMING DEVICES - Sound Devices & Com Ports

Sound devices:

1. Click on Windows Key then type Sound and choose Change Sound Card Settings.

RENAMING COMPORTS

1. Windows key + R and then type Regedit

In Regedit

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\

CTRL + F and search for existing port name and click on the "friendly name" and change to what you want.

Here is an example of what I did to Rename/Sort them by COM#.

NOTE: I put the (COM#) in brackets at the begining of the line so it sorted them in numeric order
